DISTRIBUTION: This beetle is not common, and is seldom encountered. It is widely distributed throughout England, Wales and southern Scotland.
WING SPAN: 18mm to 34mm. STATUS: Resident. FLIGHT PERIOD: June through to August. LARVAL PERIOD: No data.
HABITAT: They inhabit well established, and ancient woodland. FOOD PLANT/S: The dead and decaying wood of tree's.. SIMILAR SPECIES: The Musk Beetle is similar. |
